El Morfi Grill was founded in 1991 by brothers Rene and Jorge Vildoza. First styled as an eatery, El Morfi opened at the corner of California and Orange and moved to its Brand Boulevard location in 1997. The location is unique -brick walls, hanging plants and skylights offer a choice of dining motifs: display cooking, boulevard front picture window and secluded table environments are all available. El Morfi also features boulevard outdoor dining.

El Morfi's service and cuisine bring you the best efforts of three generations of members of family Vildoza. Rene and Jorge had grown up in Buenos Aires learning from their father, a master meat cutter.

Rene continues that tradition and other restaurants vie for his talents preparing fillets, steaks and ribs. Those are featured at El Morfi.

Father's recipe for Locro, a rich goulash of white beans, corn, beef, pork and vegetables topped with cheese is a frequent special of the day. Mama's recipe for Argentine potato salad is a side dish available daily.

Rene contributed the family recipe for chimichurri, an olive oil, garlic and parsley condiment, which is delicious to grace El Morfi entrées as well as on our homemade baguette style bread.

Rene's children have followed in the family tradition and will be pleased to serve you. The newest member of family Vildoza, Monica, is adding to our culinary heritage with her own mole style pork flanks. They are delicious!
